The Traffic Commissioner has draconian powers to revoke or limit the operator's licence and thus the operator's ability to earn his living.

Revocation of an 'O' licence can (and generally does) have catastrophic consequences upon the operator.

The Traffic Commissioner's Inquiries are hearings requiring in-depth specialisation.

The laws upon which the Commissioner acts are complicated and the terms of his mandate are largely unknown to operators. The preparation of responses to cases and representations generally is a specialist area.

No operator should ever appear before the Traffic Commissioner without experienced legal representation.
