1. I heard that the licensing law is about to change, is it true? Yes, the Licensing Act 2003 will replace all six current licensing regimes relating to Alcohol, Public Entertainment, Cinemas, Theatres, Late Night Refreshment Houses and Night Cafes. The start date for the Act will be determined by the Secretary of State but is expected to be this during the course of 2004. 2. I am already a licence holder, will I need to apply for a new licence? Yes, once the Licensing Act 2003 comes into force, all existing licence and certificate holders will have a six months window to convert their existing licences and certificates into the new premises licence, personal licence or club premises certificate available under the new legislation. back to top |
